Huawei Wins GTI 2020 'Market Development Award' for its Contribution to 5G Global Commercialization
[Shanghai, China, February 26, 2020] GTI announced that Huawei has won the 2020 'Market Development Award' for its outstanding contribution to 5G large-scale commercial adoption and the promotion of 5G end-to-end industry maturity.
2019 is the first year for 5G commercial use and has witnessed quick maturity of industry elements including terminals, spectrums, and more. According to the latest GSA update, by the end of 2019, 61 telecom operators in 34 countries had officially announced the commercial release of 5G, most of them are supported by Huawei. Huawei 5G end-to-end product portfolio that spans the radio access network, core network, transport network, and terminals has supported 5G commercial deployment for operators across China, South Korea, Europe, the Middle East and more. In the third-party network performance tests conducted by RootMetrics and Connect, Huawei helped its operators rank No.1 in user experience, which further demonstrates superior performance of Huawei products in actual commercial use.
To embrace the mass adoption of 5G, Huawei released its comprehensive product portfolio with three-layer networking architecture for all scenarios, enabling seamless coverage and a consistent experience for end users. Moreover, Huawei's industry-only ultra-broadband solutions which support a maximum bandwidth of 400 MHz and Blade AAU are dedicated to simplify site deployment and lower TCO. With the end-to-end NSA/SA networks, Super Uplink and Slicing solutions, Huawei can work with operators and industry customers to enable diversified services on demand to secure business success.
"We are very grateful to GTI for granting Huawei the 'Market Development Award'. GTI has continuously played an important role in building a global 5G industry ecosystem centered on mid bands, accelerating 5G E2E maturity, and facilitating cross-industry convergence and innovation. 2020 is a key year for large-scale 5G commercial use. Together with GTI, Huawei will work with global partners to build a healthy and sustainable 5G ecosystem, bring ultimate performance and experience to consumers, and expand the market for industry digitalization," said Edward Deng, President of Huawei Wireless Network Product Line.
