Huawei and Qualcomm finish 1Gbps joint test successfully
4.5G is ready for massive commercialization
[Shenzhen, China, February 17, 2016] Huawei and Qualcomm finished 1Gbps joint test successfully. The test showcased the commercial readiness of 4.5G on both infrastructure and user device side.
The test adopted Huawei’s first 4.5G Version eRAN11.1 and a Qualcomm® prototype modem device with Snapdragon™ X16 chipset inside. The test adopted three 4.5G key technologies: Downlink 3 Carrier Aggregation (DL 3CC CA), Downlink 4x4 MIMO, 256QAM high order modulation.
DL 3CC CA: Aggregate 3 carriers to form larger bandwidth to provide higher throughput.
DL 4x4 MIMO: Double the spectrum efficiency compared with traditional 2x2 MIMO
256QAM: Improve spectrum efficiency by 33%
Since the launch of the world’s first 4.5G Network by TeliaSonera Norway at the end of last year, more leading operators from Germany, Canada, Kuwait, Hong Kong have announced their plans to launch 4.5G .
Bob Cai, Head of Huawei LTE FDD Product Line said: “The successful test makes an important step for 4.5G massive commercialization. 4.5G Gbps will be the new benchmark of MBB network. We will keep investing on innovational technologies and work closely with industry partners to provide the best MBB network and the best user experience.”
MWC 2016 will be held in Barcelona, Spain from February 22 to 25. Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at Fira Gran Via Hall 1 and Hall 3.
