Cuala GAA Scores with New Huawei Ireland Sponsorship Deal

2021.06.21

Reigning Dublin Senior Hurling Champions Cuala GAA have scored a new sponsorship deal with Huawei Ireland, with the world’s largest ICT company set to extend its winning partnership for 2021.

For a fifth year in a row, Huawei will back Cuala GAA Senior Hurling Team as its primary sponsor, with the South Dublin hurling powerhouse seeking to win its third championship in a row and sixth in seven seasons.

The long-running partnership is a key element of Huawei’s programme of supports for local communities.  As part of the sponsorship, Huawei is also donating 50 new Huawei tablets to the Saint John of God’s Dublin South East services, which is one of Cuala GAA’s charity partners. The tablets will be made available to service users, enabling them to stay connected and support their ongoing development.

Commenting, Tony Yangxu, CEO of Huawei Ireland said: “As a long-standing supporter of the GAA, we are thrilled to be extending our winning partnership with Cuala GAA. Sport plays a vital role in bringing communities together and that has never been more important than over the past year. We look forward to seeing the Huawei logo continued to be displayed on Cuala jerseys, and we wish the team the best of luck as they aim for three in a row.”

Welcoming the sponsorship, Cuala Adult Hurling Chairman Tadhg Murphy said: “We are delighted to welcome Huawei Ireland back as the primary sponsor of our Senior Hurling Team. With spectators starting to be allowed to attend club matches again, this is another piece of great news for the club.”

“The past year has demonstrated the importance of GAA clubs like Cuala in supporting and providing a sense of belonging for those in the community and this can only be achieved through the help of sponsors such as Huawei Ireland.”
