Planzer Increases Logistics Efficiency with Huawei Network Solution
Swiss logistics service provider Planzer has optimized its IT infrastructure using Huawei technologies. By deploying Wi-Fi 7 access points, CloudCampus switches, and the iMaster NCE-Campus solution, the company is reducing costs and simplifying network management.
"Huawei's iMaster NCE supports us throughout the entire lifecycle of the campus network – from zero-touch deployment to monitoring, configuration, license management, and reporting. Through automation, we reduce manual configuration errors and thus increase our efficiency."
Manuel Novio, Head of IT at Planzer
Challenge
Reducing complexity and increasing efficiency in IT infrastructure
Planzer, a leading Swiss logistics and transport company, faced the task of modernizing its IT infrastructure. The existing environment was causing high total operating costs and complicating the management of its widespread locations. Planzer sought a solution that would not only reduce costs but also simplify network management and provide future-proof technologies for digital transformation. Manuel Novio, Head of IT at Planzer, explains: "In our daily work we use connected solutions such as handhelds, scanners, and trackers across all our locations. A reliable network is one of the keys to this infrastructure."
Solution
Centralized cloud management with Huawei technology
After a thorough evaluation process, Planzer decided to implement Huawei Wi-Fi 7 access points and CloudCampus switches. The core of the solution is the iMaster NCE-Campus platform, which operates in the European Huawei Cloud. This combination enables centralized management of the entire network infrastructure across all locations in Switzerland and Germany.
"The solution supports us throughout the entire lifecycle of the campus network – from zero-touch deployment to monitoring, configuration, license management, and reporting. Through automation, we reduce manual configuration errors and thus increase efficiency," says Novio. The gradual introduction of the new technology is carried out in collaboration with Huawei partner Cancom. A distribution center is migrated one at a time to ensure a smooth transition.
Benefits
Improved efficiency and future-proof infrastructure
The implementation of the Huawei solution brings numerous benefits to Planzer. Foremost is the significant reduction in total operating costs compared to the previous solution, strengthening the company's economic viability. At the same time, Huawei Germany Enterprise 2025 centralized cloud management via iMaster NCE-Campus significantly simplifies network management. This reduces manual effort and the complexity of IT processes. In warehouses, Wi-Fi 7 access points ensure stable and fast wireless connections, noticeably increasing the efficiency of logistical operations.
The scalable infrastructure is designed to be future-proof, as it supports the ongoing digitalization of logistics processes and can be flexibly adapted to new requirements. Also, Planzer benefits from increased agility: new locations or upgrades can be rolled out much faster than before, thanks to standardized network management. This combination of cost efficiency, simplified management, improved connectivity, future security, and increased agility positions Planzer optimally for the challenges of the modern logistics market. "Thanks to the iMaster NCE Campus, we are well prepared for the future," says Novio.
“With Planzer, we streamlined the entire network refresh. Thanks to Zero touch provisioning, they saved significant time, eliminated costly vendor licenses, and value the direct support from us as the manufacturer”, said Dominic Mettler, Network Architect & Solutions Manager at Huawei Switzerland.
