Huawei Malaysia Achieves ISO 45001 Standards

[February 20, 2020, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia] With the desire to continue making its mark as a leading and trusted information and communications technology company, Huawei Malaysia has been recently presented with the Certificate of Compliance to Management System in accordance with the standards laid down by The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The award was presented by the Chairman of The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), YB. Alice Lau Kiong Yieng to Mr. Lai Chao Sen, Vice Director Delivery & Services of Huawei Technologies (Malaysia). In attendance to officiate the ceremony event, was YB M. Kula Segaran, Minister of Human Resources Malaysia.

Huawei Malaysia is one of the twenty companies across country to obtain ISO 45001 SMS certification by NIOSH. The ISO management system standards are guidelines to help organisations improve their performance by specifying repeatable steps which can be consciously implemented to achieve company goals and objectives, and to create an organisational culture which reflexively engages in a continuous cycle of self-evaluation, correction, and improvement of operational processes through heightened management leadership and commitment, and employee awareness.

By applying these ISO standards, Huawei intends to further develop and strengthened the trust and confidence Malaysians have with the brand, besides enhancing its global corporate image and competitiveness in the industry.

Alongside Lai Chao Sen, several others from the company were present at the ceremony, including Jason Long Hai Bing, Malaysia Program Director, Yeow Yee Jen, Field Work Implementation Director, Rosli Bin Hashim, Safety Specialist and Siti Nur Maisarah Binti Hasbullah (SHO).  

The award ceremony took place at the 35th Asia Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organization (APOSHO 35), 23rd Conference and Exhibition on Occupational Safety and Health (COSH2020) & 6th Scientific Conference on Occupational Safety and Health (SciCOSH) held on 20 February 2020 at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
