This competition mainly examines students' application and innovation abilities using AI and
ICT.
The Innovation Competition of the Global Final is a team competition. The participating
teams will make presentations in the form of PPT, video, or physical works according
to the
sequence decided upon drawing lots at the opening ceremony. The competition duration for
each team is 20 minutes, including 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for
Q&A. The
presentation language is English. (Chinese mainland teams can use Chinese, and those
using
English will obtain bonus points.) Entries must be uploaded to the Entry module of the
Huawei ICT Competition's official website before May 21, 00:00 (UTC+8). Teams
must find an
every-day life problem for which they can design a solution, combine industry application
scenarios, and comprehensively use AI (mandatory), cloud computing, IoT, big data, and other
technologies to propose solutions with social and commercial value, and design fully
functional works.
This competition includes four tracks: Network, Cloud, Computing, and Ascend AI (The Ascend
AI track is only available in the Chinese Mainland). The competition focuses on the ICT
theoretical knowledge, hands-on skills, and teamwork of the participating students.
The competition is conducted in the form of an 8-hour comprehensive experiment. In the
Network Track, contestants will use eNSP simulator software to conduct their
experiments. In
the Cloud and Computing Tracks, contestants will use Huawei Cloud for their
experiments. In
the Ascend AI track, contestants will use Huawei Cloud and Orange Pi development
boards to
conduct their experiments. The Organizing Committee will provide contestants with
competition computers. Contestants are prohibited from bringing any electronic
equipment
into the exam room. The exam questions are in English, and contestants are
allowed to use
online translation tools. During the competition, contestants can only use the reference
links and documents provided in the exam paper. The members of a team collaborate with each
other to complete the task and submit one complete answer.
This is a new track launched for the Huawei ICT Competition 2024–2025, including the
OpenHarmony IoT Application Development track (currently only available in the Chinese
Mainland). This track focuses on examining students' knowledge and hands-on skills in key
OpenHarmony subsystems as well as their teamwork.
The competition is a six-hour comprehensive experiment. The contestants develop code
in the
local computer development environment and deploy it on the DAYU200 development board
for
the experiment. During the competition, the Organizing Committee will
provide contestants
with competition computers. Contestants are prohibited from bringing any
electronic
equipment into the exam room. The exam questions are in English, and
contestants are allowed
to use online translation tools. During the competition, contestants can only use the
reference links and documents provided in the exam paper. The members of a team collaborate
with each other to complete the task and submit one complete answer.
