An attacker may exploit this vulnerability to exhaust the memory of the device and cause the device to restart.

The vulnerability classification has been performed by using the CVSSv2 scoring system (http://www.first.org/cvss/).

Base Score: 2.6 (AV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P)

Temporal Score: 2.1 (E:F/RL:O/RC:C)

1. Prerequisite:

The attacker gains access to the device network and the SEP protocol is used;

2. Attacking procedure:

The device cannot free the buffer containing the malicious fields of the packet. As a result, attackers can craft and send a large number of such packets to the target device to exhaust the memory of the device and may cause the device to restart.

Customers should contact Huawei TAC (Huawei Technical Assistance Center) to request the upgrades. For TAC contact information, please refer to Huawei worldwide website at http://www.huawei.com/en/psirt/report-vulnerabilities.
