Security Advisory - Permission Control Vulnerability in the HiSuite

The HiSuite is mobile assistant software on PCs.

The HiSuite has a permission control vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker who has access to the LAN could exploit the vulnerability to install any app on the mobile phone. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2016-03034)

This vulnerability has been assigned Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2016-4086.

An attacker could exploit it to install any app on a mobile phone. 


The vulnerability classification has been performed by using the CVSSv2 scoring system (http://www.first.org/cvss/).

1. Prerequisite:

(a)    The user connects the mobile phone to a PC with USB cable.

(b)   The user logs in to the HiSuite and connects it to the mobile phone.

(c)     The attacker has access to the LAN of the mobile phone.

2. Attacking procedure:

An unauthenticated attacker who has access to the LAN could exploit the vulnerability to install any app on the mobile phone.
