Security Advisory - Permission Control Vulnerability in Smart Phones

Some Huawei Smart phones have a permission control vulnerability. Due to improper authorization configuration on specific device information, an attacker with the root privilege can exploit this vulnerability to modify specific device information. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2017-08157)

This vulnerability has been assigned a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2017-15307.

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present:

The attacker has obtained the root privilege.

Vulnerability details:

Due to improper authorization configuration on specific device information, an attacker with the root privilege can exploit this vulnerability to modify the specific device information.

The product that supports automatic update will receive a system update prompt. You can install the update to fix the vulnerability.
