Security Advisory-Radius Vulnerability on Some Huawei Devices

On huawei Campus Switch, AR, SRG,WLAN devices, the RADIUS component cannot handle malformed RADIUS packets. This vulnerability allows attackers to repeatedly restart the device, causing a DoS attack (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2014-0307).

This Vulnerability has been assigned Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2014-4704.

This vulnerability allows attackers to repeatedly restart the device, causing a DoS attack.

The vulnerability classification has been performed by using the CVSSv2 scoring system (http://www.first.org/cvss/).

1. Prerequisite:

The remote authentication or accounting method is RADIUS.

2. Attacking procedure:

Attackers graft malformed RADIUS packets, which cannot be handled by the device and cause the device to restart.
