Security Advisory - Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the GaussDB

The GaussDB has a buffer overflow vulnerability due to the lack of input validation on some parameters. An authenticated attacker on the LAN can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition in the affected system. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2017-04112)

This vulnerability has been assigned Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2017-2714.

Successful exploit could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service condition in the affected system.

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present:

1. An attacker could access the GaussDB on the LAN.

Vulnerability details:

The GaussDB has a buffer overflow vulnerability due to the lack of input validation on some parameters. An authenticated attacker on the LAN can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service condition in the affected system.
