Volcano: Building Application-Aware Infrastructure for AI Services

Kubernetes is being widely adopted to carry AI and big data services. However, Kubernetes cannot fully satisfy AI training in terms of scheduling and job management. Volcano, an open-source batch processing system based on Kubernetes, is therefore developed to manage workloads for batch and elastic computing, allowing efficient deployment of AI and big data applications in the production environment.
