Energy reform drives the increase of distributed energy, such as Photovoltaics (PV) and wind energy, and the emergence of new power consumption modes, such as electric vehicles (EVs) and integrated energy services (IES). The traditional electric power industry is currently facing great challenges, including heavier load, higher maintenance costs, declining management efficiency, operation deterioration, as well as KPI (power grid dispatch, power outage duration) deterioration. With the maturity of new ICT technologies (big data, cloud, 5G, AI, and IoT), intelligent application services — intelligent power transmission and transformation inspection, automated dispatch for power transmission, transformation, and distribution, multi-station integration, and digital IES — constantly reshape the electric power industry. Digital transformation becomes the primary choice for the electric power industry to cope with such challenges.
