Huawei Brings 5G Roadshow to the UK
The Huawei 5G Roadshow made the latest stop of its Western Europe tour with an appearance at the famous Oval Cricket Ground in central London on. The home of Surrey County Cricket hosted the fully customized 5G demo truck as telecom operators, government officials, media and other partners gathered to see and hear more about Huawei’s end to end portfolio of 5G products and solutions, while witnessing the capabilities of 5G via live AR drone demos on May 31, 2018.
The 5G Truck Stops at Oval Cricket Ground
The event was hosted by Jerry Wang, CEO of Huawei UK, who was on hand to highlight the value that 5G will bring to the UK in terms of enhancing people’s lives, improving businesses and driving economic growth. Wang said, “The truck demonstrates our commitment to help build a better connected UK, based on a consistent R&D strategy, a portfolio of end to end products and solutions and cooperation with local partners. Expanding and evolving existing LTE network and their derivatives, together with exploring new vertical segments like enterprise and the Internet of Things (IoT) are the first steps in making 5G a reality.”
Huawei is a global leader and pioneer in the development of 5G technology, which it has been investing in since 2009. Via its X Labs development center, it works with over 280 partners on create real-life user cases in key vertical sectors, such as cloud, virtual reality, connected cars, drones, e-Health and smart manufacturing. The company is also cooperating with industry partners to push the development of a UK 5G industry ecosystem via the creation of several cross-industry organizations, such as 5G Slicing Association (5GSA), 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation(5G-ACIA).
