KUALA LUMPUR, 7 MAY 2021: Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia), a leading Cloud service provider, is collaborating with VITA Media Sdn Bhd (VITAMEDIA), a one-stop marketing agency specialising in both offline and online events as well as marketing strategies, to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) grow in today’s intelligent world.

The partnership was sealed through a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) signing ceremony on 28 April. The signatories were Mr. Roy Hu Hai Hua, Director of Huawei Cloud Malaysia, and Mr. Kiro Tan, VITAMEDIA CEO.

Also present were Mr. Lim Chee Siong, Vice President of Huawei Malaysia’s Cloud & AI Business Group and Dato' Danny Tan, Deputy President and Public Affairs Advisor in Malaysia of Guangdong Electronic Commerce Association (ECA).

The initiative will see Huawei Cloud providing the needed infrastructure to power and further enhance VITAMEDIA’s information review hub, ASKPERT, whereas VITAMEDIA will be responsible for the business-to-business (B2B) aspect of the collaboration by getting SMEs to take full advantage of ASKPERT in their business transactions.

Through ASKPERT, consumers will have access to more transparent and accurate information, and a deeper understanding of products before they finalise their purchases. They will be able to make more informed decisions and smarter choices by referring to other users' comments. In addition to that, merchants will be able to address users' voices through their reviews and cater their products and services better to meet consumer's needs.

As for traditional businesses, having a digital operation management in place will not only simplify the transaction process but also shorten working time, reduce management costs, labour costs, resource input source, and further improve the efficiency of resources use and allocation. Hence, going digital would trim a typical three-day trading process to as quick as 10 minutes via the utilisation of digital technologies.

“We are committed to providing reliable, secure, and cost-effective Cloud services to empower applications, harness the power of data, and help organisations of all sizes grow in today’s intelligent world. We are also grateful to Huawei Cloud for their commitment in bringing affordable, effective, and reliable Cloud services through technological innovation,” said Mr. Kiro Tan.

“We firmly believe that with the availability of a platform such as ASKPERT, combined with Huawei Cloud’s expertise , we will be able to improve the awareness among SMEs on the latest digital trends, thereby expanding the range of market scopes,” Mr. Kiro added.

Mr. Lim Chee Siong, Huawei Malaysia Vice President of Cloud and AI thanked VITAMEDIA for choosing Huawei Cloud as its business and industry partner, and reiterated the need for businesses, especially SMEs which are more vulnerable to the negative effects of COVID-19, to upskill digitally and adopt technology to give them a competitive advantage in today’s world.

“Today, Cloud has become the cornerstone of today’s intelligent world. This has forced not only SMEs, but industries across the board to relook, rethink and restrategise their operational efficiencies in order to stay relevant and to thrive,” Mr. Lim said, adding that SMEs play a crucial role in the economy, and that as a global economy leader, Huawei believes that it is the company’s duty to use its technological expertise and resources such as 5G, Cloud and Big Data to drive digital transformation among local businesses.

“Huawei remains committed towards driving digital growth among SMEs for the benefit of both businesses and consumers, while supporting the Malaysian government’s vision to digitally transform the sector. This collaboration with VITAMEDIA will leverage Huawei’s technology to improve accessibility to infotainment content and in doing so, enrich consumers’ lives,” Mr. Lim said.

VITAMEDIA is also set to launch a new e-commerce model in 2021. The company offers interesting live sales content in three languages and guarantees a lowest price for a three-hour broadcast limit throughout the year. This "live broadcast plus e-commerce" model not only enhances consumer stickiness on the Internet, but also improves the commodity sales conversion rate for e-commerce, creating a greater profit opportunity for traditional e-commerce and enabling e-commerce platforms to absorb Internet traffic, thus maximising the amount of traffic.

VITAMEDIA's portfolio contains more than 4,500 online celebrities, live broadcasters, and bloggers, and 14 mainstream online media outlets covering Malaysia with more than 10 million followers. VITAMEDIA jointly produces high-quality content, comprehensive marketing strategies, innovative online and offline publicity solutions, and service promotions.

All these will be hosted on Huawei Cloud, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
