European Students Celebrate Global Success at the 10th Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals

[Shenzhen, China — 5 June 2026] — The Awards Ceremony of the 10th Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026 Global Finals was successfully held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Shenzhen, China, celebrating outstanding achievements in ICT innovation, technical excellence, and international collaboration.

The 10th edition marked the largest onsite Huawei ICT Competition to date, attracting over 1,500 student registrations from more than 100 institutions across 14 European countries. Following highly competitive national and regional rounds, 16 finalist teams from eight European countries qualified to represent Europe at the Global Finals in Shenzhen, China.

The participating European countries included Spain, Italy, Türkiye, Poland, France, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Greece.

Recognised as one of the world’s premier ICT talent competitions, the Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals brings together outstanding students from around the world to compete in advanced technical and innovation challenges.

Presentation of Plaque to Preferred ICT Academy

In addition to the student awards presentations, another highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Preferred ICT Academy Plaque to Poznan University of Technology in recognition of its continued commitment to ICT education and talent development.

Innovation Competition Booth at Awards Ceremony

1st Prize Innovation Competition Winning teams from Cruxivity ICT Academy, Greece had their own booth where the showcased their project to Government Officials, Academics and students attending the ICT Competition Awards Ceremony.

Students Meeting with Consul Generals’

During the competition, Mr. Markus Thür, Swiss Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr. Adnan Hayal, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Guangzhou, and Ms Georgia (Gina) Andreadi, Consul General of Greece in Guangzhou, attende the Huawei ICT Competition Awards Ceremony and held private meetings with their respective national student teams at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center.
Mr. Markus Thür presented medals to the winning teams from Switzerland, while Mr. Adnan Hayal presented awards to Türkiye’s First Prize-winning team in the Network Track.

The distinguished guests congratulated the students on reaching the global finals and praised their outstanding achievements. MVI Forum

On 4 June 2026, the Huawei ICT Academy Most Valuable Instructor (MVI) Global Forum was held in Shenzhen, bringing together outstanding educators from around the world to recognise excellence in ICT teaching and talent development.

Following a series of rigorous selection processes, seven exceptional educators from Europe were recognised as Huawei ICT Academy Most Valuable Instructors (MVIs).

The MVI Grand Prize was awarded to Prof. Yunus Ozen from Yalova University, Türkiye, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to ICT education and student talent development.

Yalova University Professor Yunus Ozen, said:

“My selection as one of Huawei’s Most Valuable Instructor and Grand Prize Winner of the Teaching Competition is both a personal honor and a reflection of Yalova University’s long-standing journey with Huawei. Through my openEuler and Huawei Cloud case, I transformed Operating Systems education into an evidence-driven engineering experience that helps students move from theory to real system observation, tuning, and practical competence. I am sincerely grateful to Huawei, to the dedicated colleagues who supported me, and to Yalova University for this opportunity. For me, the greatest achievement is seeing this collaboration create international visibility, internships, and stronger employment pathways for our students”

Exploring Huawei’s Xiliubeipo Village and Exhibition Halls

As part of the five-day Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026 Global Finals programme, participating teams visited Huawei’s Xiliubeipo Village, Shannon Exhibition Hall, and Darwin Exhibition Halls, where they explored the company’s latest technological innovations, advanced ICT solutions, and pioneering research and industry applications.

The visits offered students from around the world valuable opportunities to experience cutting-edge technologies first hand, exchange knowledge and ideas with fellow participants, and gain deeper insight into emerging trends shaping the future of the global ICT industry.

The Huawei ICT Competition is an annual global initiative for students and educators from colleges and universities around the world. Organised by Huawei, the competition provides an international platform for learning, competition, knowledge exchange, and cultural collaboration, enabling participants to strengthen their ICT knowledge, enhance practical skills, and foster innovation through emerging technologies and digital platforms.

Since its launch in 2015, the Huawei ICT Competition has continued to expand in both scale and global influence, attracting more than 750,000 university students from over 2,000 colleges and universities across more than 80 countries and regions. The growing participation each year reflects the programme’s increasing international recognition and impact within the global ICT education community.

In China, the competition has been officially recognised as a national university student competition, while internationally it has also been acknowledged by UNESCO’s Global Skills Academy as a flagship partner programme.

Through the Huawei ICT Academy and Huawei ICT Competition programmes, students are supported in developing their ICT knowledge, practical skills, innovation capabilities, and creative thinking.
