Huawei Teams up with SAMPOL DIGITAL Spain in Building All-Optical Smart Hotels

[Hannover, Germany, June 14, 2018] Huawei and SAMPOL DIGITAL Spain, a leading international integrated delivery provider, jointly launched the smart hotel solution based on the Agile POL (passive optical LAN) at CEBIT 2018 in Hannover, Germany. The Agile POL solution can effectively improve a hotel's revenue per available room (RevPAR) and gross operating profit per available room (GOPPAR), helping hotels maximize business value.

SAMPOL DIGITAL, established in Mallorca, Spain, in 1934, has a history of over 80 years and focuses on providing end-to-end delivery solutions for public services and enterprises. The smart hotel solution has the following four advantages:

  • Bears triple play services with optical fibers instead of Ethernet cables, coaxial cables, and telephone lines; supports both wired and wireless access and achieves simplified O&M.
  • Fully utilizes the interference and corrosion resistance features of optical fibers to meet the requirements of high-end resort hotels in high-salt seaside and corrosion-prone locations. In addition, the solution supports link protection, is able to build reliable networks that last over 8 years, protects customers' network investment, and avoids repeated network constructions.
  • Upgrades CATV to IPTV and unidirectional networks to bidirectional interactive networks, and pushes hotel value-added services to customers through both mobile phones and TVs.
  • Turns IT rooms required by traditional network into hotel rooms, which directly increases the overall revenue, greatly improves user experience, and increases customer satisfaction and hotel room occupancy rate.
