Statement Re: the Ruling of US District Court, Northern District of Illinois, on Huawei's Case Against Motorola Solutions

[Shenzhen, China, February 22, 2011] On February 22, 2011, Central Time, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois issued a preliminary injunction in the case of Huawei suing Motorola and Nokia Siemens Networks. The injunction not only included the prohibition on Motorola transferring Huawei's confidential information to Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) as stipulated in the temporary restraining order issued on January 14, but also added requirements such as requiring Motorola to hire an independent third party to conduct a security deletion check on Huawei's confidential information and allowing Huawei to audit NSN's service records for maintaining Motorola equipment.

We welcome the court's ruling and value the court's continued support of our contractual rights: Motorola Solutions must honor the agreement to protect Huawei's trade secrets and intellectual property. We look forward to working with Motorola Solutions on improving their intellectual property protections.
