Wang Tao, Executive Director of the Board and President of Products & Solutions at Huawei: Innovative Ways to the Intelligent World

At the 15th Huawei Global Analyst Summit held in Shenzhen, Wang Tao, Executive Director of the Board and President of Products & Solutions at Huawei, proposed three innovative ideas for product innovation, system architecture innovation, and business model innovation to lead an intelligent world that features all-connected, all-cloud, and all-intelligent.

Huawei released the new vision this year, that is, to bring digital to every person, home, and organization for a fully-connected, intelligent world. The three characteristics of the intelligent world are: all things are sensing, all things are connected, and all things are intelligent. These three characteristics require that a large number of innovative ICT technologies be used to build an innovation road that features all-connected, all-cloud, and all-intelligent, and that a symbiotic ecosystem be used for the support. This way, the entire intelligent world can be enabled. The innovation road to the intelligent world requires not only product innovation but also system architecture innovation and business model innovation.

Use 5G and ultra-broadband to break through boundaries to connect all things.

Huawei's services start with connectivity. However, to break through the boundaries of connectivity to connect all things, 5G and ultra-broadband are indispensable. 5G and ultra-broadband will become the core support technologies for the fully connected, intelligent world. 5G is not only for individual users but also for enterprise users. It is not only a mobile technology but also an important part of industry solutions. Large-scale commercial use of NB-IoT is the prelude and basis for 5G commercial use. NB-IoT has been widely recognized. It has been widely deployed in China and covered almost all corners. NB-IoT is also becoming a reality in other countries around the world.

With the emergence of services, such as cloud, video, IoT, and 5G, traffic will increase tremendously, and the advantages of ultra-broadband will become increasingly prominent. As one of the world's first 400G ultra-broadband network product vendors, Huawei is the first to launch an end-to-end 400G ultra-broadband network product with ultra-large capacity, ultra-long distance, and ultra-low latency based on self-developed chips and algorithms to prepare for the 100G-to-400G evolution for telecom networks.

Construct ICT solutions with device-pipe-cloud convergence and continuously deepen cloudification based on the "black soil" of HUAWEI CLOUD.

In 2016, Huawei officially announced the all cloud strategy. In 2017, Huawei officially announced its entry into the public cloud field, aiming to promote the full cloudification of telecom networks to achieve ROADS experience and promote enterprises to make full use of technologies, such as cloud computing, SDN, and big data, thereby completing digital transformation with agility and intelligentization as the core.

The all cloud solution advocated by Huawei is an end-to-end solution with cloud capabilities and device-pipe-cloud convergence to better meet industry requirements. Based on the HUAWEI CLOUD platform and base, Huawei exposes the digital transformation experience and ICT capabilities accumulated over the past 30 years to customers and provides private line communication, campus communication, enterprise communication, and IoT as cloud services, simplifying network deployment and service use and reducing customer service costs. This is the unique differentiated capability of HUAWEI CLOUD.

Huawei has established a global service vehicle connection platform for PSA Peugeot Citroën Group based on HUAWEI CLOUD and Huawei partners' clouds. This platform provides services, such as vehicle rental, fleet management, and private vehicle sharing. Huawei provides not only a "box", but also a device-pipe-cloud solution that integrates chips, networks, HUAWEI CLOUD fleet management, private car sharing, and other industry suites.

In the safe city field, video surveillance has been deployed in many cities, but video data is usually not shared or streamlined between cities or departments. Huawei's Safe City solution not only provides software smart cameras and ultra-broadband dedicated networks, but also integrates a distributed cloud system and a unified cloud platform to integrate videos of provincial and municipal levels into one cloud and aggregate data into lakes, generate great value, and allow peace to be foreseeable.

Use three-dimensional AI architecture, and enable cloud-pipe-device and all-intelligence.

Huawei expects to use AI technology to improve the competitiveness of products and solutions from the aspects of cloud, pipe, and device, and provide AI-inside full-stack products and solutions. Huawei's three-dimensional AI architecture involves full-stack AI deployment and application in the aspects of chips, algorithms, products, networks, cloud services, and O&M. On the device, network, and cloud sides, Huawei has launched a series of products and solutions, such as intelligent camera, SoftCOM AI, and HUAWEI CLOUD EI.

On the network side, Huawei introduces AI into the SoftCOM architecture and uses SoftCOM AI for product and solution upgrades. The first step is to provide automated service provisioning and deployment. The second step is to provide self-optimization and self-healing, that is, quality self-optimization and fault self-isolation and rectification. The ultimate goal is to achieve autonomy, that is, self-evolution, helping telecom networks to achieve the multiplications of the resource utilization efficiency, O&M efficiency, and energy consumption efficiency.

On the device side, Huawei uses AI on software-defined intelligent cameras. Self-developed AI chips are used, greatly improving camera performance. The image processing capability of intelligent cameras in complex scenarios increases 25-fold, and the accuracy of characteristic extraction in low-illumination environments is greater than 85%. Phone chip Kirin 970 with a built-in NPU enables mobile phones to understand you more and have more powerful visual, auditory, and touch sensation, greatly improving the experience of mobile phones in photographing and voice processing.

In the intelligent society, disruptive innovation and transformation will become norms, making the society be full of opportunities.
