GSMA data shows that global carriers' B2B revenue has steadily grown over the past five years, now comprising 30% of their total revenue. B2B services are shifting from traditional connectivity to integrated digital solutions that combine networks, computing power, security, and applications. AI sits at the very heart of this transformation. Leading carriers are now making strategic moves: China Mobile's "AI + three industries and three networks" strategy focuses on industry applications, network capabilities, and ecosystem collaboration, while Orange is advancing "AI + digital native services." These initiatives highlight how AI-driven B2B services are becoming a core driver of growth, pushing the global B2B market towards trillion-dollar scale.
Carriers face significant challenges in advancing AI-driven B2B services. AI is fueling demand for standardized services like cloud and computing access, requiring private lines that offer high reliability and quality. Meeting the specific needs of vertical industries requires networks to evolve from single-technology private lines or campus networks into converged multi-technology communication infrastructure that spans the access, transport, and core layers. Traditional passive and manual O&M models are unable to meet such requirements. Therefore, integrating connectivity with intelligence and developing proactive, SLA-oriented O&M capabilities is crucial for unlocking growth potential in government and enterprise markets alike.
AUTIN intelligent O&M: Breaking the bottleneck of network quality assurance to drive B2B growth
To bridge the gap between traditional O&M and service development requirements, Huawei has drawn upon its global network O&M expertise and developed AUTIN, a three-layer architecture. This architecture supports two key scenarios: Intelligent O&M of private lines and converged private networks. Leveraging an open collaboration platform, AUTIN delivers end-to-end O&M support for carriers, from standard inclusive communication services to deep industry-specific customization.
Intelligent O&M of private lines: Using standard SLAs to support large-scale expansion of basic services
To provide inclusive and standard private line services in line with industry trends, AUTIN provides breakthrough capabilities such as full-path visualization, intelligent warnings, and tenant self-services. The solution supports cross-domain visual monitoring of various private lines, changing private line quality from a black box to full transparency. AI-powered fault warnings can detect risks 2 to 12 hours in advance. Additionally, the solution offers the Private Line Butler, a value-added service that accurately measures and displays private-line-quality data in real time.
This solution enables large-scale implementation of standard warranty services for private lines, dramatically enhancing O&M efficiency, supporting business growth, and accelerating the commercialization of O&M value-added services.
Intelligent O&M of converged private networks: Multi-network management twinning drives scenario-specific O&M assurance
Network demand has evolved to a level where there is a composite need for ubiquitous access, flexible networking, and low-latency assurance. Therefore, carriers are integrating diverse resources like OTN, IP/MPLS, PON, SPN, 5G, and Wi-Fi into a unified foundation. Additionally, they are tailoring converged private network solutions for various application scenarios, and providing differentiated communication services for upper-layer applications.
AUTIN employs digital twin technology to create a unified cross-domain foundation. By precisely managing multi-network convergence scenarios, AUTIN facilitates the transition from traditional private lines to vertical private networks, helping carriers upgrade their offerings from basic connections to SLA-guaranteed services.
This solution supports converged multi-dimensional monitoring of services and management of private-network events across intranets and the Internet. This allows users to easily access up-to-date service overviews and check service quality. Furthermore, the digital twin network (DTN) is capable of identifying potential network risks to enhance network reliability. Additionally, the intelligent diagnosis feature reduces fault demarcation time from hours to just 30 minutes, thus boosting O&M efficiency.
For performance-sensitive scenarios, such as industrial manufacturing, automated logistics, and intelligent monitoring, the solution customizes intelligent monitoring to maintain millisecond-level latency, detect packet loss, and send alerts upon detecting traffic congestion. The scenario-specific SLA system ensures that the overall availability of performance-sensitive private networks meets deterministic requirements.
Open collaboration: Integrating partner capabilities into all-domain O&M of B2B services
The AUTIN platform extends O&M capabilities for private lines and networks to full-stack assurance of industry applications through lightweight integration. By utilizing the component-based architecture of LLM + agents + skills + model context protocol (MCP), the platform provides an autonomous O&M system that is driven by large model agents. Additionally, it offers open APIs for ecosystem partners, helping customers overcome the bottleneck of full-stack assurance from the underlying network to upper-layer services, and comprehensively upgrading O&M systems from ensuring connectivity to achieving intelligent decision-making.
Technical foundation and global practices supporting solution implementation
The AUTIN system has established a robust foundation for large-scale deployment using three core technologies. DTN enables precise modeling and real-time awareness across domains and layers (such as OTN optical, IP/MPLS, and 5G wireless), improving topology accuracy by over 20% and significantly enhancing fault location efficiency. Meanwhile, Expected Demand Not Served (EDNS) quantifies service impact to support intelligent decisions on resource allocation and recovery priorities. GenAI empowers O&M roles by creating AI agents and copilots for core scenarios like fault closure and risk identification, comprehensively elevating intelligent O&M.
Huawei, along with the TM Forum and eight global carriers, including Orange and China Mobile, released the Next-Generation Intelligent O&M White Paper. This paper highlights GenAI, domain-specific professional models (EDNS 2.0), and DTN as key drivers of intelligent O&M transformation. In the B2B field, Huawei and China Mobile used the GenAI O&M assistant alongside proactive network fault monitoring to perform correlated analysis of industries and networks, thus reducing revenue loss and improving user satisfaction.
This system has already been verified in live networks across the globe. The intelligent O&M solution manages tens of thousands of private lines, providing deterministic assurance for key sectors such as finance. In Carrier Y's tests across multiple provinces and cities in Country C, fault demarcation time was reduced by 90%, and 70% of high-frequency faults were automatically resolved. In Project T, the intelligent agent achieved a 75% automatic troubleshooting rate for private line quality assurance, improving fault demarcation and localization efficiency by 30%.
Practice shows that enhancing O&M capabilities and providing deterministic assurance based on the network foundation is an effective way to help carriers manage B2B networks and drive business growth.
Currently, government and enterprise network O&M is transitioning from single-domain, decentralized operations to multi-domain converged assurance, marking a historic upgrade from a cost center to a competitiveness center. By leveraging AUTIN, which performs intelligent O&M for private lines and converged networks, carriers are transforming their strategies from selling bandwidth to selling premium services + intelligent O&M + AI value-added services. Looking ahead, Huawei will deepen its expertise in AI-native frameworks, and continue to streamline costs and efficiency with AUTIN. Huawei also aims to build a human-machine collaboration system and enhance the overall competitiveness of customer services. We look forward to partnering with global industry leaders to embark on a new journey of intelligent O&M that is driven by AI and built on converged networks.
