Paul Scanlan, VP of Sales & MKTG, Huawei South Pacific Region, says user experience is the biggest consideration of mobile broadband operators in 2012.
2012 has proven an extraordinary year, with smartphone users exceeding 1.1 billion around the world, and the mobile penetration rate hitting 17%; therefore, the last barrier to mobile Internet has been broken down. Revolution is emerging; the existing rules will be destroyed, while the trend of convergence between IT and CT will accelerate. Consumers do not care about technology, and they do not care whether you come from the CT or IT industry anymore; they need an undifferentiated experience and a unified platform. The next wave of revolution must be in the experience and platform.
In 2012, we have understood the mobile Internet experience much more deeply. First of all, awareness of experience and transparency of services and pricing must be enhanced. Consumers have the right to know what service they need, how to get it, and how much it will cost. In association with mobile operators, Huawei is committed to building up a supermarket of experiences, where consumers can shop experience clearly, freely, and simply. Huawei has built a powerful mobile broadband platform for mobile operators which supports multi-RAT and multi-band. Mobile operators provide consumers a visual supermarket containing an "experience" shelf, "experience" goods, and a simple cashier.
In 2012, we boosted the experience revolution around the world. We delivered LTE networking with the best experiences for operators in Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K. and Singapore; launched the industry-leading coordinated HetNet architecture, released innovative our Networker solution, PRS solution, as well as our CSFB solution.
This is not only a revolution, but also a feast and carnival. Experience can be turned into revenue. Those who hold the portal of the best experience will be king in the mobile broadband era.
