At LTE 2012 Asia, Paul Scanlan, VP of Sales & Marketing, Huawei South Pacific Region, introduces the company's unparalleled LTE products and solutions, which provide significant improvements to both user experience and operator competitiveness.
Paul Scanlan: M1, one of Singapore’s largest operators, has deployed LTE networks. Can we say this is an explosion of LTE in this region?
Cui Jinglong, Wireless Marketing Director, Huawei South Pacific: GAS reports that 347 operators in 104 countries are investing in LTE. We have seen great LTE opportunity the in Asia-Pacific region, especially developing countries. Asia-Pacific is a key region for LTE TDD commercialization, especially in China, Japan, and India, which are rolling out LTE TDD networks on a large scale. In the coming two years, we will see more LTE networks being deployed in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
Paul Scanlan: Huawei’s no-edge network concept apparently improves the throughput of the edge. Would you please elaborate on this?
Peter Zhou, Vice President of LTE Wireless Network, Huawei: It is all about user experience. We believe that LTE will help operators achieve bigger business success as it provides a much better user experience than legacy technologies. The no-edge network ensures a seamless user experience by using various LTE, LTE-Advanced, and innovative future-oriented technologies such as coordinated multipoint, adaptive inter-cell interference cancellation, and advanced receivers to realize ultra-broadband, zero-waiting, and ubiquitous connectivity. All these help enhance user experience, network speed, quality, and simplicity. Users at the cell edge can have similar user experiences with those in the cell centers.
