HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 is organized by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and its affiliates (hereinafter referred to as "Huawei", "we", "us", and "our"), which provide various technical and administrative support for the event. HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 (hereinafter referred to as "this Event") will be held in Shanghai, China, featuring both online and offline activities. This Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") describes how Huawei uses and protects your personal information when you register for and participate in the main event, as well as online and offline activities. By reading this Policy, you can understand the scope, purpose, and methods of our processing of your personal information. Your consent to this Policy only indicates that you consent to the processing of necessary personal information. If you do not provide or consent to the processing of necessary personal information, you will not be able to participate in this event.
This Policy describes how Huawei processes your personal information, but it may not cover all scenarios of personal information processing in this Event. We have prepared this Policy to help you understand the following:
Personal information refers to various types of information recorded electronically or otherwise relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, excluding anonymized information. We may collect your personal information when you use Huawei products and services, and when you interact with us. The specific types of data collected will vary depending on the products and services you use, and your interactions with us. You are not required to provide personal information for Huawei; however, in certain circumstances, if you choose not to provide it, Huawei may be unable to deliver the relevant products or services to you, respond to the issues you encounter, or help you resolve the issues. You can quickly learn about the personal information collected and used in the event by accessing the List of Personal Information Collected.
(1) When you receive an invitation to this event and agree to participate, we will collect your first name, last name, company/organization name, industry, job title, email address, phone number, and gender for the purpose of reserving and booking resources for activities, including keynote speeches, showcase visits, executive meetings, and technical exchanges.
(2) When you require our assistance in providing an invitation letter for visa application, or booking travel and accommodation, we will collect your valid identification information, phone number, flight details, accommodation details, and personal dietary requirements.
(3) When you receive the registration notice for this event and complete the registration, we will collect your invitation code, first name, last name, email address, mobile number, country/region, company name, industry, and whether or not you agree to use the facial recognition system for identity authentication during entry. After you choose to consent to Huawei and its authorized partners sending you information about Huawei products, solutions, and services, you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscription button in the marketing email. To fulfill the obligations of large-scale event safety management as stipulated in laws and regulations, we are required to implement a real-name registration and real-name admission system. Therefore, we will also collect your ID type and ID number (one of the following: Resident Identity Card number of the People's Republic of China, passport number, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, and Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents). After successful registration, we will automatically generate a unique badge ID and RFID number for you, which will be displayed on your event badge.
(4) To facilitate your participation in this event, we will send you reminders related to this event, such as registration results, agenda release reminders, livestream reminders, and event participation reminders. We may send you such reminders through the email address or mobile phone number you provided during registration, or through the mobile Internet application (HUAWEI CONNECT) you use.
(5) When collecting your badge, you will need to present your valid identification document or the email confirming your successful registration. Your badge will display your first name, last name, company, badge ID, QR code, and event type. In addition, with your consent, Huawei employees who are invited or accompanying you to this event can collect the badge for you, by presenting their valid identification documents and emails.
(6) When you use the event application (HUAWEI CONNECT), we will collect your personal information, such as your device information and the industry, technology, and topic tags you select for this event. Please read the privacy statement of the application before using it.
(7) When you watch the livestream of the event, we will send an email containing the livestream link and verification code to the email address you provided during registration. If the livestream is open to the public, we will collect information generated by the livestream platform, such as your random ID, IP address, and start and end times. If the livestream requires authentication, we will collect information such as your phone number or email address, visitor ID (customer ID + timestamp), IP address, and start and end times.
(8) When you fill out the questionnaire, we will collect your badge ID, company information, comments on Huawei products and solutions, project requirements, and other questions related to our products or solutions.
(9) When you participate in onsite interactions and hands-on experience of our products, solutions, and services, we may collect your personal information. Please read the privacy statement displayed on site.
(10) At the event site, we will arrange for staff to take event photos and video and conduct interviews, which may involve processing your facial images and voice information. The recorded materials may include, but are not limited to, electronic records, video tapes, audio tapes, and photos. The aforementioned recorded materials will be used only for event recording and publicity purposes. If you do not want to be filmed or recorded, or if you do not want Huawei to use the recorded materials related to you, please contact the Huawei staff at the event site in a timely manner.
(11) To facilitate your use of the Internet at the event site, you may use our free Wi-Fi access services based on your needs. In order to provide you with the Wi-Fi services, we will need to collect your mobile phone number, the IP address and MAC address of your mobile device, and the time you log in to and log out of the Wi-Fi network.
(12) With your consent, we will contact you via the email address you have provided to send you information about Huawei products, solutions, and services. We will also invite you to participate in Huawei activities (including promotional activities), market surveys, and satisfaction surveys. You may also receive marketing information from us. If you do not wish to receive such information, you can unsubscribe at any time.
(13) When you enter the venue of the keynote speech, the contactless gate at the entrance will automatically read the RFID number on your badge to confirm and count the attendees of the keynote speech. At this point, we will collect the RFID number from your badge.
(14) When you enter areas such as the summit and session venues, or dining areas of this event, our staff will use a PDA to scan the QR code of your badge ID at the entrance to verify the number of people entering the site. At this time, we will record your badge ID number.
(15) When you interact with Huawei staff in areas such as exhibition booths, summits, sessions, roundtables, etc., we may scan the QR code on your badge to record information including your badge ID number, company name, feedback on Huawei products' competitiveness, demands for Huawei products and solutions, or details about your project needs, so that we can follow up on your inquiries or requirements.
To fulfill legal and regulatory obligations regarding the safety management of large-scale events, the organizer of a large-scale exhibition must implement a real-name registration and real-name admission system. Therefore, during registration, we will also need to collect your valid identification information (one of the following: Resident Identity Card number of the People's Republic of China, passport number, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents number, or Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents number).
When you enter the conference venue, you may choose the facial recognition entry channel or the manual entry channel. Please note that facial recognition entry is not mandatory, and you may opt for manual verification. If you choose facial recognition entry, it is recommended that you prioritize the ID card recognition method.
(1) If you choose to use a valid ID card for facial recognition entry, we will collect your facial image on site and verify it against the facial information associated with the Resident Identity Card of the People's Republic of China. Upon successful verification, you may enter the venue. In this case, the only valid ID card recognized by the facial recognition device is the Resident Identity Card of the People's Republic of China. If you hold other types of ID cards (e.g., passport, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, and Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents), please choose manual verification.
(2) If you choose to use the QR code of your event badge for facial recognition entry, we will collect your facial image on site and verify it against the facial information collected in advance. Upon successful verification, you may enter the venue. (To use this method of entry, we need to collect your event badge and facial information in advance and store them on servers located in China. However, we will not store the original facial image, and the stored facial image will be deleted within one working day after the event concludes.)
(3) If you choose to enter the venue through the manual channel and have already obtained your event badge, our staff will use a portable digital assistant (PDA) to scan your badge ID and verify your personal information, including your name, company, valid identification document, and access permission. If you have registered for the event but have not brought your event badge, our staff will use a PDA and ask you to enter your name, email address, ID number, or phone number on the PDA to verify your identity and access permission. Our staff will confirm your entry on the PDA, and at that point, we will collect your badge ID and entry time.
Where permitted by law, we may also obtain relevant data from public and commercial third parties and public sources. For example, we may purchase statistical data from other companies to support our services.
Huawei may also collect and use non-personal data. Non-personal data refers to data that cannot be used to determine an individual's identity. For example, Huawei may collect aggregated statistics, such as website visit counts. Huawei collects this data to understand how users use our websites, products, and services, which enables Huawei to improve services and better meet customer needs. Huawei may collect, use, process, transfer, and disclose non-personal data for other purposes at its sole discretion. We will make every effort to isolate your personal information from non-personal data, and use the two types of data separately. If personal information is mixed with non-personal data, it will still be treated as personal information.

(1) In the event that certain services are provided by Huawei's authorized partners, Huawei will share your personal information, including your name, company, phone number, email, industry, project requirements, etc., with such partners as described in this Policy. We will require our partners to use your personal information only for providing services to you on behalf of Huawei. Huawei will entrust the exhibition service provider to process your personal information, including your name, email, and company, when printing and producing your Event Badge. If you need Huawei to arrange your itinerary, Huawei must share your personal information, including your valid ID, phone number, flight, accommodation, and special dietary requirements, with the hotel, airline, vehicle, and catering service providers to help you book the itinerary services. When you choose to enter the venue through the facial recognition channel using your Resident Identity Card of the People's Republic of China, your facial information will be sent to the face verification system. The verification system will not retain your facial information and will only return the verification result.
(2) If you are a speaker at the event, your name, industry, company, position, photo, and video will be displayed at the event site for your speech after you give your consent. Your name, industry, company, position, and photo will also be displayed online, such as on the official website of the event, the event mobile app, and Huawei's official social media accounts, to help participants arrange activities during the event and to promote the event.
(3) Photos taken, video recorded, and interview video at the event will be used in the event publicity, such as on the official website of the event and Huawei's official social media accounts. If you do not want Huawei to use the recorded materials related to you, please contact us in a timely manner.
You shall ensure that all the personal information you submit is accurate. Huawei will do our best to maintain the accuracy and completeness of your personal information and update the information in a timely manner.
To the extent required by applicable laws, you may (1) have the right to access and copy your specific personal information we hold; (2) request us to update or correct your inaccurate personal information; (3) object to or restrict our use of your personal information; (4) request us to delete your personal information; or (5) request us to explain the personal information processing rules. Huawei takes personal information security seriously. We use appropriate physical, management, and technical measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss. For example, we use cryptographic technologies for data confidentiality, protection mechanisms to prevent attacks, and access control mechanisms to permit only authorized access to your personal information. We also provide training on security and privacy protection for employees to raise their awareness of personal information protection. We are committed to protecting your personal information; however, please note that no security measure is perfect.
We will retain your personal information for no longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes stated in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. The data retention period may vary with scenarios, products, and services. The standards we use to determine the retention period include: The time required to retain personal information to fulfill business purposes, including providing products and services; maintaining corresponding transaction and business records; managing and improving the performance and quality of products and services; ensuring the security of systems, products, and services; handling possible user queries or complaints, and locating problems.
The retention periods of the data collected in each scenario of this event are as follows:
(1) The personal data you provide in event scenarios such as registration, badge collection, entry, sign-in, attending keynote speeches and summits, and submitting questionnaires while watching the livestream, will be retained for two years. If you do not interact with Huawei for the next two years, we will anonymize or delete your personal data.
(2) The personal data we collect when helping you apply for the visa, and book travel and accommodation will be deleted within one year.
(3) The facial information you provide before the event will be deleted within one working day after the event ends.
(4) The facial information you provide when using the facial recognition entry will not be stored. It will only be used for identity verification.
(5) If you are a speaker at this event, we will obtain your authorization before collecting your personal data, and retain your data in accordance with the requirements of the authorization letter.
(6) We will take photos and video at the event. Your personal information may be collected during the process, and the photos and video will be uploaded to the cloud server. The data on the cloud server will be deleted one month after the event ends. After the event ends, the photos and video on the cloud server will be synchronized to Huawei's internal storage, where they will be deleted within two years after the event.
(7) In general, the personal data collected during your onsite interaction and experience will be deleted shortly after the event ends. The specific retention period is subject to the privacy statement displayed onsite.
(8) If you use the Wi-Fi provided by Huawei, the collected personal data will be deleted within three months after the event ends.
(9) If you use the HUAWEI CONNECT mobile application, please refer to the privacy statement of the application for the retention period of the collected personal data.
This event is intended for adults aged 18 and above. If you are under the age of 18, please do not participate in this event. When we find that Huawei has collected juniors' personal information, we will take measures to delete the information as soon as possible.
You may receive content or network links from third parties other than Huawei and its partners (hereinafter referred to as "third parties"). This is to ensure that you can have a smooth browsing experience. Huawei has no control over such third parties. You can choose whether or not to access the links, content, products, and services provided by third parties.
Huawei has no control over the privacy and data protection policies of third parties, which are not governed by this Policy. Before submitting your personal information to third parties, please refer to their privacy protection policies.
Huawei is a multinational company, which means that your personal information collected by Huawei may be processed and accessed in the country and region where you use our products and services, and in other countries and regions where Huawei and its affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers, and business partners have operations. These countries and regions may have different data protection laws. In such cases, Huawei will take measures to ensure that the data we collect is processed in accordance with the requirements of this Policy and applicable laws.
