HUAWEI CONNECT 2025 (HC2025 or the "Event") is organized by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., with technology and management support from its affiliates (collectively referred to as "Huawei", "we", or "us"). HC2025 is held online and onsite in Shanghai, China (September 18–20, 2025). This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how Huawei uses and protects your personal information during your registration and participation in the Event. You can read the Policy to understand the scope, purpose, and means of personal information processing. By accepting this Policy, you consent only to the processing of necessary personal information. If you choose not to provide necessary personal information or not agree to the processing of necessary personal information, you will not be able to attend HUAWEI CONNECT 2025. Your consent will be requested for optional functions that involve personal information processing. You understand that this Policy may not cover every possible scenario related to the processing of personal information. Any scenarios not addressed in this Policy will be covered in a separate privacy statement or an updated version of this Policy.
This Policy helps you understand the following content:
After you read and agree to this Policy, Huawei will collect and process your personal information online and offline to provide you with high-quality services and information regarding activities. In the following sections, we will describe how we process your personal information, including the scenarios, types, methods, and purposes involved.
1.1 To help you sign up for activities and enjoy online and onsite activity experience, we will collect your personal information such as the name, gender, nationality, email address, phone number, organization/company, industry, and position via Huawei's official website, Huawei's Congress Information Management System (CIMS), event marketing platform (Events), and other channels after obtaining your consent. To comply with laws and regulations regarding security management for large-scale events, organizers must implement real-name registration and entry. As part of this process, we will require your valid identification information (one of the following identities: ID card number of the People's Republic of China, passport number, number of Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, or number of Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents). Upon successful registration, an Event ID will be automatically generated for you, which will be displayed on your badge.
1.2 To make it easier for you to attend the Event, we will send you Event-related information (such as registration results, live streaming links, and reminders) to the email address you provided during registration.
1.3 If you need our assistance with your invitation letter for visa application, travel or accommodation arrangements, and special dietary needs, we will need to collect your valid ID information, phone number, flight information, and accommodation and dietary requirements.
1.4 To comply with laws and regulations regarding security management for large-scale events, organizers must implement real-name registration and entry. We will check your identity when you enter the venue.
1.5 When collecting your badge at the Event, you will need to enter your name, email address, mobile number, or ID number on the PDA to verify your identity.
1.6 Your badge displays the name and company name you have entered during registration, as well as your attendee ID. When you attend a keynote speech, summit, session, or roundtable, the on-site staff will use a PDA to scan your attendee ID to check whether you have been granted access to the event. To make it easier for you to enter the keynote venue, we have installed a smart sensing device at the entrance. Your badge has a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip. When you enter the venue, the device will automatically record your attendee ID based on the RFID. Such information will be used for entry management and attendance statistics. Please note that no location or movement track information will be collected during this process.
1.7 To make it easier for you to access the internet at the Event, we offer free Wi-Fi access that you can choose to use based on your needs. However, to provide this service, we need to collect personal information such as your name, company, phone number, IP address, MAC address, as well as login and logout times of your mobile device.
1.8 During the Event, we will arrange for staff members to take photos and videos of the Event inside the venue, as well as conduct interviews. Your personal information such as your image and voice may be used for recording and promoting the Event, including electronic records, video tapes, audio tapes, and photographs. These recordings will only be used for publicity purposes. If you do not wish to be captured on camera or do not want Huawei to use any recordings related to you, please contact us promptly.
1.9 When you experience our showcased products or services at the Event, we will collect necessary personal information to deliver the experience. Please refer to the privacy statement displayed at the booth for details.
1.10 To deliver a better attendance experience, we provide a dedicated mobile app (Huawei Connect) for the Event. During this process, we will collect your personal information. For details, please refer to the privacy statement of the app.
1.11 During the Event, we may invite you to log in to or register for mobile apps related to Huawei business, such as the Joint Definition Community, HUAWEI eKit, and Huawei eFly, to understand your requirements for Huawei products or services, helping us improve our products and services. These apps may need to process your personal information. Please refer to the privacy statement of the specific app for details. You can choose not to use these apps, which will not affect your participation at the Event.
1.12 For attendees who are unable to join us onsite, we will provide live streaming services. We will email the live streaming link and verification code to the address you used during registration. When you access live streaming sessions, we will collect the random ID generated by the live streaming platform for you, along with the session details and viewing time.
1.13 When you participate in other Event-related activities such as surveys and lucky draws, we will collect necessary personal information to enhance the experience. Please refer to the privacy statement of the relevant activities for more information.
We may also use your personal information for the following purposes:
Huawei may also collect and use non-personally identifiable information (non-PII). Non-PII refers to information that cannot be used to identify a particular individual. Huawei collects this data to understand how users use our websites, products, and services to improve service quality and user experience. We reserve the right to collect, use, transfer, or disclose non-PII at our discretion. We will endeavor to isolate your personal information from non-PII and ensure that the two types of data are used separately. A cookie is a text file stored by a web server on a computer or mobile device. The content of a cookie can be retrieved or read only by the server that creates the cookie. Each cookie is unique to your web browser or mobile application. Cookies usually contain identifiers, site names, numbers and characters. Our website uses cookies to store data about your preferences and other information.
Like many other websites and Internet service providers, we use cookies to enhance user experience. Cookies enable websites to remember users, whether for a single visit (session cookies) or multiple visits (permanent cookies). Cookies also enable websites to save users' settings, such as the language, font size, and other browsing preferences for your computer or mobile device. This means that you do not need to reset the preferences on a website for every visit. Without cookies, a website would view each visit as a new user. For example, if you are redirected to another web page from a website you are already logged in to and then return to the original website, it will not recognize you and you must log in again.
We will not use cookies for any purposes not stated in this Policy. You can manage or delete cookies based on your preferences. For details, visit AboutCookies.org. You can clear all cookies stored on your computer and most web browsers provide the option to block cookies. In addition to cookies, we also use other similar technologies, such as web beacons and pixel tags, on our websites. For example, when you receive an email from Huawei, it may contain a click-through URL that links to a Huawei web page. If you click the link, Huawei will follow your visit to help us understand your preferences for products and services and improve our customer service. A web beacon is usually a transparent graphic image embedded in a website or email. We use pixel tags to determine whether an email has been opened. Huawei will disclose your personal information only in the following circumstances:
You shall ensure that all the personal information you submit is accurate. Huawei is committed to maintaining the accuracy and completeness of your personal information and keeping it up-to-date.
According to the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, you have the right to request access to and obtain copies, receive, object to the collection/use/disclosure, change, delete, destroy, reject, restrict the use and transfer of your information, file a complaint, or withdraw your consent at any time. If you want to exercise your rights, please contact us via our data protection officer (information provided at the end of this Policy). For security, we may ask you to put your request in writing. We may decline requests if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the requests are fraudulent or unfeasible or may jeopardize the privacy of others.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time when we process your personal information based on your consent. However, the withdrawal does not affect the legitimacy or effectiveness of how we process your personal information based on your consent before the revocation, nor does it affect any data processing based on a legal basis other than your consent.
Huawei attaches great importance to the security of personal information. We use appropriate physical, organizational, and technical measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss. For example, we use cryptographic technologies for data confidentiality, protection mechanisms to prevent attacks, and access control mechanisms to permit only authorized access to your personal information. We also provide training on security and privacy protection for employees to raise their awareness of personal information protection. We are committed to protecting your personal information; however, note that no security measure is completely infallible. In the event of an information breach, Huawei will handle the incident in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations and take all reasonable measures to mitigate or eliminate the impact of the incident.

You can choose whether to accept interactive activities, services, or products provided by third parties. Huawei will not proactively share your personal information with third parties. Third parties are independent processors of personal information, and their processing behavior and corresponding legal liabilities are irrelevant to Huawei. If a third party processes your personal information, refer to the privacy policy of the third party before submitting the personal information to the third party. We have no control over the privacy policies of third parties, which are not governed by this Policy.
The Event will be held in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. Therefore, the personal information you provide to Huawei will be stored on servers located in the People's Republic of China. Huawei may disclose or transfer your personal information with its subsidiaries or authorized third parties, which may process your information in countries/regions where they have a presence, or may access it from these countries/regions. These countries or regions may have different data protection laws. In such circumstances, Huawei will take measures to ensure that data is processed as required by this Policy and applicable laws. For example, when transferring your personal information from the EU to countries or regions that the EU has not acknowledged as having an adequate level of data protection, Huawei will take all legal mechanisms to secure your personal information, including signing standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, requesting for your consent on the transferring of your personal information, or implementing security measures like anonymizing personal information before the transfer.
