There is an access control bypass vulnerability in some Huawei products. Attackers that can access to the internal network can exploit this vulnerability with careful deployment. Successful exploit may cause the access control to be bypassed, and attackers can directly access the Internet. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2019-12397)

This vulnerability has been assigned a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2020-1860.

Successful exploit may cause the access control to be bypassed, and attackers can directly access the Internet.

The vulnerability classification has been performed by using the CVSSv3 scoring system (http://www.first.org/cvss/specification-document).

Base Score: 4.3 (AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L) 

Temporal Score: 4.0 (E:F/RL:O/RC:C)

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present: 

Attackers can access the internal network of the device. 

Vulnerability details:  

There is an access control bypass vulnerability in some Huawei products. Attackers that can access to the internal network can exploit this vulnerability with careful deployment. Successful exploit may cause the access control to be bypassed, and attackers can directly access the Internet.

Run the following commands to avoid this problem: 
acl number 3001                                                                                                                       

 rule 5 permit ip destination X.X.X.X 0  

 rule 10 deny udp source-port eq dns  

 rule 15 permit ip 

X.X.X.X is the destination IP address of the DNS messages that are allowed to pass through.  

The principle is that only the DNS messages whose destination IP address is the specified DNS server are permitted, and the DNS messages sent to other DNS servers are not permitted.

This vulnerability was discovered by Huawei internal tester.
