Singapore

In 2012, Huawei signed an MoU with Temasek Polytechnic and opened the institution's Cloud Technology & Innovation Center, a joint laboratory dedicated to the R&D and instruction of cloud computing technology. On September 24, 2013, Huawei and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) jointly opened the Broadband Technology and Services Training Center, which is Singapore's first Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) training center. In addition, Huawei provides GPON certification for ITE students through the center. Graduates with this certification are better positioned to acquire higher-level certifications, which in turn boosts their ICT career prospects.

Every year, Huawei teams up with ITE to select top students for a Huawei-sponsored study trip. Through these initiatives, Huawei has nurtured a pool of cloud computing professionals for Singapore and helped the Singaporean government achieve its long-term goal of establishing a global data management center. In 2014, 10 ITE students participated in Huawei's Seeds for the Future program and studied in China. In July 2015, 10 students from Nanyang Technological University took part in the program; student representatives met with the Singaporean President H.E. Tony Tan Keng Yamand showed him Huawei's wearable devices in the company's Beijing exhibition hall.
