Seeds for the Future program was launched in Romania in August 2014. Supported by Romania's Ministry of Communications and Information Society and the National Education Ministry, eight students from seven local universities have participated in this program, including the University Politehnica of Bucharest, University of Craiova, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi, and Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. Romanian ambassador to Beijing attended the launch event and received media interviews. He thanked Huawei for organizing its CSR activity and supported such an initiative. He also encouraged these students to work hard, and take this opportunity to learn more about Huawei, and adapt themselves into Huawei's corporate culture as soon as possible.

Building on its success in 2014, the program attracted another eight students in 2015. Minister of National Education and vice minister of Communications and Information Society attended the press conference, and recognized the program's contributions to Romania's education and ICT development.

In 2016, this program benefited 10 local students, and received wide media coverage. Romanian government officials, such as the head of the Prime Minister's Office and the vice minister of Communications and Information Society attended the launch event.
