In 2015, Huawei launched the Seeds for the Future program in Pakistan, and worked with top local technology institutes (such as the National University of Sciences and Technology, Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Technology, and University of Engineering and Technology) to select 11 outstanding students to participate in the program. We co-organized the launch event with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and invited over 100 government, university, and student representatives to speak at the event. Mainstream media extensively covered the event, and highlighted the positive contributions Huawei has made to maintaining the sound relationship between China and Pakistan, and nurturing local ICT talent.

In 2016, Huawei signed a strategic MoU with Pakistan's Higher Education Commission (HEC), to roll out the Seeds for the Future program in the western and northern regions where education resources were limited. 14 outstanding ICT students were selected across the country to participate in the second program, three of whom were from the western and northern provinces. Most of the students had never been abroad before. During the launch event, the HEC chairman said, "I'd like to thank Huawei for its ongoing support for Pakistan's education. The Higher Education Commission has worked with Huawei for over ten years. This program will bring our cooperation to the next level. It will benefit the students throughout their lifetime, bringing hope for the future."
