Seeds for the Future is Huawei's global CSR flagship program. Through this program, Huawei partner with local educational institute and universities, to selects top ICT major students for a study trip in China. Over the course of the program, Huawei shares its ICT expertise and experience in managing a multinational organization with young ICT professionals, and helps fuel the development of local ICT industries.

Huawei New Zealand started the program in 2013, first partnered with the Auckland University of Technology, to provide a two week China trip for the chosen students. The first week is a cultural experience in Beijing with activities ranging from visits to the Great Wall and Forbidden City, to language studies, calligraphy and other arts. The second week will be spent at Huawei HQ with a combination of hands-on tutorials, classroom time, and factory tours. This aims to give students a feel for life at a major technology company, to provide insight into the global ICT industry and to learn about some of the next-gen technologies being created at Huawei.

In 2017 Huawei New Zealand will expand the program to more Kiwi students, there will be 15 students from University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington, and Auckland University of Technology  travel to China and complete the two weeks trip in late August.
