In 2011, Huawei began cooperating with the Paris Institute of Technology (ParisTech) to launch the Seeds for the Future program in France. In 2013, Huawei extended this cooperation to six new universities, including ESIEE Paris, HEI Lille, INSA Rennes, INSA Toulouse, INSA Lyon, Ecole Centrale de Lyon, and Institut du Service Civique. In 2014, the program included 15 students from nine French universities, including ECE, ENSEA, ENSIEE, Grenoble INP Ensimag, Université Cergy Pontoise, Télécom Strasbourg, Télécom Lille, ESIEE, and Institut du Service Civique. In 2015, with support from the French education minister, Huawei extended the program to 5 disadvantaged students from Web@ademie (coding school), giving the program also a social impact. The partnership with Web@ademie was officially announces by rotating CEO Mister Ken HU, during summer party in 2016. The program still also covered top engineering universities, including DAUPHINE Paris, ECE Paris, EPITECH, ESIEE Paris, EURECOM, INSA Lyon, SUPELEC, TELECOM Bretagne, and TELECOM Lille.
To attract the brightest talents, Huawei has launched a contest which final selection was made by a prestigious Jury of KOL, journalist and high level expert and academics. A dedicated website was created to access directly to the latest information from the program. To date, over 90 French students have taken part in the program, which provides a window for students to understand China and the ICT industry.In 2016, the trip to China was also enriched with encounters with local ecosystem (French Tech in Shenzhen) and French ICT start-uppers who established business in China.
