During the meeting with Huawei SVP Li Dafeng, President Mugabe said alongside his ministers, other government officials, and media journalists present: "We appreciate the role you are playing and we do hope that you continue to work with us, in terms of how you work, expand as much as possible and also educate our people." President Mugabe also demonstrated his Huawei P7 mobile phone, which has produced a very positive effect for Huawei's brand.
Considering the outdated infrastructure and the lack of ICT talent in Zimbabwe, Huawei has planned a series of large-scale CSR activities. As part of this plan, Huawei will help Zimbabwe set up a Community Information Center (CIC) configured with computers, printers, faxes, projectors, and displays. In addition, Huawei will include the CIC in its flagship CSR program "Telecom Seeds for the Future". Huawei SVP Li Dafeng presented two donation letters regarding the CSR activities, which fully reflected its commitment to helping local communities bridge the digital divide and fulfilling corporate social responsibilities. President Mugabe expressed his appreciation for what Huawei has done to local communities.
