Privacy Statement in connection with ICT Day 2026, 28.05 and 03.06.2026

This privacy statement (in the following ‘Privacy Statement’) explains how Huawei Technologies Switzerland AG (hereinafter “Huawei”, “we”, “us”, “our”), the organizer of Huawei ICT Day 2026, in Switzerland (hereinafter referred to as “Event”), will process your personal data disclosed.

Huawei understands the importance of privacy and is fully committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with all applicable data protection laws and regulations.

Huawei will be the controller of the personal data collected or provided to us. Your personal data will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy accessible at https://www.huawei.com/ch-en/privacy-policy. However, related personal data collected specifically in connection with the Event will be dealt with as set out below.

1. THE DATA WE COLLECT

We may collect the following types of personal data for internal use only:

  • Your first name, last name and title
  • Your function
  • Company Name
  • Your E-Mail address
  • Nutrition Preferences (vegan, yes/no)
  • Pictures / video recording in which you may be identified

2. SOURCES WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA FROM

Your data will be collected directly from you via email and registration page for the event and images respectively video recording will be performed during the event. All personal data you provide to us in relation to this event, see section 1.

3. WHAT WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR

The table below describes the main purposes for which we process your personal data, the categories of your personal data involved. Which will apply will depend upon your interactions with us.

During the event, certain members of our staff or team assistants, as well as a professional agency (3rd party), will take pictures and / or videos to document the ambience and to keep the momentum.

From a privacy perspective we would like to inform you that you will be identified in these images as well as the video recording directly which represents personal data. The images and videorecording will only be shared within our community (E.G intranet). They could be used for news reporting directly associated with the event as well as for internal reporting, based on legitimate interest. Furthermore, a limited and carefully selected amount of the images and videos will be published for the purpose of reporting on our social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Xing, Facebook, Instagram and our website. This processing is required in particular to document and promote our event. We do not transfer your personal data to third parties for purposes other than those described above.

4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA AND HOW TO ACCESS & CONTROL YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The legal basis for the processing images und video records taken during the event is based on legitimate interest. We do not use personal data in connection with the data processing operations described in this Privacy Statement for automated decision-making. It is your responsibility to ensure that all personal data submitted to Huawei is correct. Huawei is dedicated to maintaining the accuracy and completeness of personal data and keeping the data up-to-date.

When you have given us your consent to use your personal information in a particular manner, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. Please note however that the withdrawal of your consent will not affect any use of the information made before you withdrew your consent; nor does it affect any data processing based on another justification other than your consent, such as our overriding legitimate interest if applicable.

To the extent required by applicable law, you may (i) have the right to access certain personal data we maintain about you, (ii) request that we update or correct inaccuracies in that data, (iii) object or restrict to our use of your personal data, and (iv) ask us to delete your personal data from our database. We may decline the request if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the request is a fraudulent, unfeasible or may jeopardize the privacy of others.

5. WHO YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS SHARED WITH AND WHERE IS YOUR DATA STORED

In order to implement the event, your data will be cross-border transferred, and processed in both China and Switzerland. It will be stored on servers located in Germany and in China. Further, your personal data may be shared with our event agency as set below for reasons of general information and event preparation works who will join the ICT Days 2026.

With your consent to this Privacy Statement we obtain your permit for the disclosure of your personal data to the following partners/affiliates to the extent required in order to organize, plan this event as well as for the purposes listed under clause 3:

  • Our video producer & photographer (Yoveo AG)
  • Our event agency (Farner Consulting AG)

6. HOW LONG IS THE PERSONAL DATA KEPT FOR

We will retain your personal information for no longer than is necessary for the purposes stated in this Policy, unless otherwise extending the retention period is required or permitted by law. The standards Huawei uses to determine the retention period are as follows: the time required to retain personal data to fulfill business purposes; whether the user agrees to a longer retention period; and whether the laws, contracts, and other equivalencies have special requirements for data retention; etc. In the case of the ICT Days 2026, we will store your personal data for the period of implementation of the event (such as registration and appointment scheduling) and an additional 2 years after the event.

Huawei takes the security of personal data seriously. We take appropriate physical, organizational, and technical measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or use, improper disclosure, tampering, destruction, or loss.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You may exercise your data subject rights, including the right to be informed, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to deletion, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to object and also rights around automated decision making and profiling as well as your right to revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time.

8. HOW THIS STATEMENT WILL BE UPDATED

Huawei reserves the right to update or amend this Statement as required. In the event of any changes, we will publish the up-to-date version of this Statement without delay.
