A man on a mission to "make Wi-Fi easier and better for everyone"

(March 2024) “Everyone hates to get into the Wi-Fi and then, suddenly, ‘I cannot do anything,’” says Tiago Rodrigues, CEO of the Wireless Broadband Alliance, in a recent Transform Talks interviews at MWC Barcelona.

“We need to recognize those gaps and address them.” 

Yet industry fragmentation stands in the way of a unified Wi-Fi solution. “It’s very complex to bring all these different players together,” Rodrigues tells Huawei Editor-in-Chief Gavin Allen. 

Still, he notes, “There are some very strong initiatives” and technologies that can help consumers and businesses connect to Wi-Fi. “We try to align all the technology companies – device, infrastructure, and laptop manufacturers, all with their own interests…We need, somehow, to find a way that everyone agrees is the way forward.”
