David Wang, President of Huawei's Wireless Network Business Unit, discusses the company’s GigaSite solution line, which represents the next step towards a connected world with endless possibilities.
End users always want to have high-speed quality mobile broadband service, and they want it to be simple and easy to use. A future mobile broadband network should be ultra-broadband, ubiquitous in connectivity, and have zero waiting, which combined will make for a superior user experience.
Today, ultra-broadband means more than 1Gbps per site, with existing spectrum resources. To help operators realize it, Huawei has introduced a new solution called GigaSite, which can support multiple bands, carriers, sectors, and inputs & outputs (MIMO) to maximize spectrum usage. In addition, with the company’s new Adaptive Radio Unit (ARU) solution, one module can support 1.6Gbps downlink throughput.
Ubiquitous connectivity is a challenge for the entire industry. Huawei’s new small cell solution, Atomcell, help provides seamless coverage and deep coverage in some urban indoor environments. Both GigaSite and Atomcell support user target beamforming. Such a feature can further improve the capacity for the whole network.
Wang is confident that both the GigaSite and Atomcell solutons will help operators deliver sufficient bandwidth for connecting anything, anytime, anywhere.
