Huawei Won the "Most Innovative Service Launch Enabled by IMS"with its "Convergent Conference" Solution in 2012 IMS World Forum

[Shenzhen, China, 1 Oct, 2010] Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that its optical distribution network (ODN) access terminal box (ATB), called PIVIT, won a Red Dot design award for product design at an award ceremony in Essen, Germany.

Huawei's sleekly designed PIVIT ODN ATB is an installation box for optical cables that can be mounted on a wall almost flush with the surface. It adopts an innovative switch design that efficiently routes optical fibers using minimal indoor space, eliminating the possibility of loose or disconnected optical fibers and enhancing FTTH network reliability. In addition, its interior is designed with Huawei's patented fiber spool structure, which meets different optical fiber connection demands, makes it easy to connect and reseat optical fibers, and dramatically improves FTTH rollout efficiency.

The Red Dot award, unofficially called the "Design Oscar," is internationally recognized as the most prestigious award of its kind. It is awarded in three different categories: product design, communication design, and concept design. Huawei' s PIVIT ODN ATB was chosen from a field of 4,252 products submitted by over 1,636 international companies from 57 countries and regions.

As of August 2010, Huawei's ODN offerings have been adopted by many of the world' s leading operators, including British Telecom, Etisalat, Nucleus Connect, Maxis, Saudi Telecom Company, and Qatar Telecom.
