On February 25, 2014, Ms. Anna-Karin Hatt, former Swedish Minister for IT and Energy, visited Huawei's exhibition booth at the Mobile World Congress. During her visit, Huawei publicly announced the launch of the three-year Seeds for the Future program in Sweden. Ms. Hatt praised Huawei, saying that, "I welcome this program. It will greatly drive digital progress in Sweden." In collaboration with the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the Chalmers University of Technology, Huawei selected 10 top students for the program, who arrived in China on June 18, 2014. At the program's opening ceremony, the China-based Senior Project Manager of Business Sweden (a Swedish investment committee) addressed the audience on behalf of the Swedish Ambassador to China.
