In 2016 Huawei’s global flagship student program Seeds for the Future was ran for the first time in Finland. Based on a national competition, open for all Finnish university students who study ICT or related fields, ten highly talented students from six different universities were selected to the program.

An Award Ceremony was organized at Huawei Helsinki R&D and honored by the Transport and Communications Minister Anne Berner who gave her best wishes to the students. The Minister saw that the program not only benefits the students but also Finland by growing talented and even more experienced future talents to the field of ICT.

When arrived in Beijing, the students were greeted at the Opening Ceremony by the Ambassador of Finland Marja Rislakki and her Embassy delegation. The two-week study trip to China continued with a visit to Huawei HQ in Shenzhen and learning about the Chinese culture and language in Beijing. In August 2017, the highly successful Seeds for the Future program will be organized again in Finland.
