The NG SDH constructs a uniform multi-service transport network by converging traditional voice, private line, video, data, VOIP, and IPTV services through classification at the access layer. All services are sent to the service network corresponding to the backbone layer for centralized processing. In this way, services are uniformly accessed, managed, and maintained. The end-to-end circuit QoS is thus improved.
Following are listed the features of the NG SDH:
- With stronger SDH capabilities, it is able to optimize networking, grooming, and protection for the traditional networks.
- With the high-quality data transmission capabilities, it can improve the reliability of data, 3G, and NGN bearer networks.
- It supports n x 64K to 2.5G TDM private line services and achieves uniform access, grooming, and transmission of DDN, PDH, and SDH private line services.
- It supports Ethernet private line and VPN. It guarantees flexible access, networking, bandwidth allocation as well as safe user isolation.
- It supports ATM private line services and protects ATM CBR, UBR, and VP_RING services.
Solution for Business Customer Private Line
Business customer private line network based on NG SDH is divided into two parts: transmission network and access network. The transmission network provides trunk circuits (PSTN voice trunk and MAN data trunk) for all kinds of service networks so as to achieve intra-metro multi-service convergence, transmission, and grooming. The access network focuses on the issue of "last mile" from the carrier network extended to the client network. The main access methods include:
- Accessing SANs through to the ESCON/FICON interfaces
- Accessing TDM high-speed digital private lines through to the 2M to 2.5G interfaces
- Accessing DDN low-speed data private lines through to the V.35 interfaces
- Using the SHDSL technology to extend the transmission distance of 2M signals with copper cables.
- Accessing Ethernet private line/VPN through FE interfaces
One-Stop Service and Service Processing
From the operators viewpoint, with the NG SDH transmission network devoted to the expansion of the high-end customer market, it is possible for an end-to-end optimization of the value chain of the telecom services, like to improve customer satisfaction rate and operation profit in terms of service design (QoS design, circuit provision by demand, and strategic bandwidth adjustment), project execution (technical selection, project construction, performance evaluation, and emergency guarantee), operation management (service, performance, signaling, customer), and finally strategic cooperation (brand strategy, professional service, industry union, and risk evasion).
From the customers viewpoint, by perfecting network and network architecture (especially business customer self-service management), it is possible to optimize the one-stop service process, and improve software service environment, and also to enhance convenience, timeliness and availability of service turn-up, end-to-end management, and troubleshooting.
