Large-scale Deployment of Unified 2G/3G Mobile Networks and New Generation Node B in Tajikistan

Tajikistan, a multinational country locates in southeast of central Asia. Its unique natural scenery has attracted lots of overseas tourists. In recent years, spurred by a growing economy, the mobile communications market of Tajikistan has been booming and many operators are fiercely competing in the mobile markets.
 
Babilon Telecoms, the largest 3G operator in Tajikistan, has been cooperated with Huawei since 2003, ranging from GSM/GPRS to UMTS etc. With Huawei's customeroriented and innovative solutions, Babilon Telecoms provided abundant 3G services to Tajikistan.
 
TT-mobile, consisting of Megafon, one of the leading mobile operators in Russia, and Tajikistan Telecoms, increased investment in New 3G services to attract customers and stimulate consumption. In 2005, Huawei was successfully awarded commercial contract to build whole 3G network in Tajikistan.
 
Huawei won the bid for the UMTS/GSM network of VimpelCom/TaCom (a holding company from VimpelCom) of the whole Tajikistan. According to the contract, Huawei will provide a unified 2G/3G Softswitch Core Network and New Generation Node B and some related service platforms to TaCom. With Huawei's leading solutions, VimpelCom/TaCom will deploy a UMTS/GSM network of wide coverage with abundant services.
