Project background

Telemar, the largest fixed operator in Brazil as well as the whole of Latin America, has selected the OSN9500 Optical transport system based on Huawei's uniform ASON platform and the SuperDWDM system to build its network . OSN9500 covers 7 of the most important cities in Brazil to improve the reliability and grooming (MESH network) based on ASON.

Project explain

A7-node mesh network using Huawei's latest OCS products.      
A 1500km long 16 channels SuperWDM system over G.653 optical fiber, making the capacity up to 160G. 

Benefits

With this network, Telemar solves the problems:

• Anti-multi-point failure. They do not worry any more about the multi-point cut of optical fiber.
• They got quite large capacity which is enough for the coming few years.
• What is more, with more reliable network, they are more competitive than other operators, now they provide SLA services for many business customers like TAM Airlines, Visa Card, banks etc.
• Additionally, because Huawei's OCS product is ASON based. It gives the network more intelligence, and thus easier to operate, maintain, and service provisioning. All those features result in lower OpEx.
