AIS is one of the leading mobile operators in Thailand. Since 1999, AIS and Huawei have been co-operated closely in market & customer-driven approach in order to provide new services continuously. AIS has been regarded as a company with the very good Return on Investment (ROI) and its subscriber base grew from 1.8 million to today's 13 million.

Since 2003, Huawei had become the main supplier for AIS networks. In 900/1800MHz network of AIS, Huawei GSM equipment demonstrates excellent open interface to other vendors' equipments. Huawei GPRS equipment with large capacity of 1.6 million subscribers works smoothly on cooperating with other vendors' equipment.

Huawei also provides all the intelligent network equipments to AIS, serving over 15 million subscribers. GSM/DCS network deployed by Huawei has been awarded the medal of "AIS Network Best Quality".

In May 2006, True Move awarded Huawei a GSM network expansion contract. According to the contract, Huawei provides a full-fledged, large-scale softswitch network based on 3GPP R4 architecture to expand True Move's whole core network covering Bangkok, south, north and northeast of Thailand. The network will be based on IP backbone with TMSC, GMSC and VMSC.
