True Move is the third largest mobile operator in Thailand. It is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of True (the largest broadband operator) under CP Group.
Challenges and Requirements of True Move
According to statistics of March 2006, the increase rate of mobile users in Thailand reaches about 11.3%, bringing more opportunities and challenges to operators. Meanwhile, the Thai government is going to issue the 3G license. Large operators are eager for the hard-won opportunity. This is also a good opportunity for True Move to increase its market position. However, the MSCs in the original network of True Move were very complicated in structure, and all the 8 MSCs are located in Bangkok, causing problems like roundabout route and ascending operating cost. Therefore, optimization of network architecture and evolution to 3G were vital for True Move to succeed in the market.
