Liaoning Mobile has succeeded in the strategic transformation from single voice service provisioning to the current multimedia services of voice, data, and image, and steps into the era of multi-service operation.

Liaoning Mobile is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Mobile (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.. By the end of 2005, Liaoning Mobile has covered over 12 million mobile subscribers, among which 1.5 million are GoTone high-end subscribers and 1.8 million are M-zone subscribers. The operation revenue exceeds RMB 9 billion, with data services and new services accounting for 20%.
Diversified Services in Demand
With the market development, traditional voice service cannot satisfy the customers any more. The diversified services integrating voice, data, image, and application services become the developing trend of the telecom industry.
Liaoning Mobile is the sole operator specializing in mobile services in Liaoning. In the face of various requirements from customers, the provision of only voice service started to hamper the operator's further development early in 2001. Developing mobile data service thus became extremely urgent. Meanwhile, to avoid overlapped 3G network construction in future, Liaoning Mobile expected the underway diversified services to foster the 3G market.
