With the largest population in Africa, Nigeria sees its telecom industry vigorously growing. Like a shining pearl in Africa's telecommunication market, Nigeria's telecom market promises tremendous business opportunity.
Replacing the original network equipment with Huawei CDMA2000 products, Starcomms has expanded its wireless networks in Lagos and other major cities to cover these areas of dense population. Provided Starcomms with its customized solutions and abundant services, Huawei has swapped all previous equipment of the network in 2004.
Due to Huawei's quick response, excellent services and good performance of CDMA2000 products since the first cooperation between Starcomms and Huawei in 2003, the subscribers grow rapidly from 5,000 to 350,000 in recent three years, which offered Starcomms the position - the Best PTO in Nigeria.
In February 2006, Starcomms became one of the national operators and launched its first CDMA2000 1xEV-DO commercial network provided by Huawei, which means that the deployment is not only the first CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network in Nigeria, but the first in West Africa.
