Offering a good way for operators who own extension bands to develop UMTS
|
The formulation of WCDMA, a 3G standard, was largely led by European countries. In the initial protocols of the 3GPP, the services were provided only on the core bands (uplink 1920 MHz–1980 MHz and downlink 2110 MHz–2170 MHz). With increasingly broad applications of the UMTS and a growing number of subscribers, the requirements on other bands apart from core bands defined initially also started to be taken into consideration according to the frequency allocation in different regions.
Based on an analysis of the global market, Huawei provides a multi-band solution, which can support UMTS 850 MHz, 900 MHz as well as AWS frequencies of 1700 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz and 2100 MHz. The UMTS multi-band solution offers a good way for operators, who already own extension bands, to develop UMTS. Its significance lies in the fact that it meets the requirements in different regional markets and mobilizes the maturity of the 3G industry.
