
Huawei OptiX Metro Series Multiservice Transport Platform
The OptiX Metro is a family of carrier-class, cost-effective, compact, and scalable next-generation SONET platform that is designed for applications in metropolitan area network to facilitate the efficient transport of the traditional TDM and emerging data traffic for service providers. With an integrated 3/1 DCS, L2 Ethernet switching and Ethernet Over SONET (EoS) via VCAT/GFP/LCAS technologies, the OptiX Metro system can help customers reduce CapeX by consolidating the central office equipment and yet generating new revenue streams with the offering of the EPL, EVPL, EPLAN and EVPLAN services on the same platform carrying traditional voice/private line services.
Only 2RU high, the M800 can address the various application scenarios within the edge access and metro edge, which can be deployed in MTU, high-riser office parks, carrier hotels and central office locations. The OptiX Metro 800 platform provides highly scalable switch fabrics of 7G, while the in-service capacity can grow from OC-3 to OC-12, and optionally to OC-48.
The OptiX Metro 800 provides a comprehensive suite of TDM and data service interfaces, including:
- SONET Optical: OC-n (n=3, 3c, 12, 12c)
- Ethernet: 10/100M Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet
- TDM: DS1, DS1 M13Mux, DS3, DS3 TransMux, EC-1
With the support from Huawei's widely deployed OptiX iManager T-2000 EMS system, the OptiX Metro M-series MSTP can also help customers to simplify operations. Provided with a comprehensive FCAPS capability, it supports different network topologies, various node configurations, in-service upgrade, and network and facility protection options.
