Optical Distribution Network (ODN)
The ODF (Optical Cable Distribution Frame) is used for connection and patching of optical cables. It is mainly used as the interface between optical transmission network and optical transmission equipment and between optical subscriber cables in access network.
The optical cross-connection cabinet is used to achieve connection and grooming of optical cable. It is mainly suitable for optical cross-connecting points between optical transmission network, optical transmission equipment and access network for the fiber subscribers.
Passive fiber splitters connect optical terminals with optical network units. Its function is to distribute down-link data and converge up-link data. It adopts TDM technology on the down-link, and implements TDM-related access protocols on the up-link.
Outdoor optical connecting box is used for connection and divergence in the optical fiber network; it is suitable for protecting different kinds of optical fiber straight-through and diverged connectors.
Fiber Division Box is applicable for the central equipment room in the residential community to terminate trunk optical cables and connect switching equipments in the LAN.
Weak-current Box (also called ONU, Optical Network Unit) is installed indoors. It is used to hold electrical and optical cable termination and connection components. The end subscriber terminal equipments also can be installed in it.
The optical cable is a very good medium for data communication, suitable for underground, duct and aerial installation.
