Huawei Hosts Global IMS Summit

[Beijing, China-31 Oct. 2007] Huawei Technologies Co.,Ltd. (Huawei), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that it successfully hosted its Global IMS Summit in Beijing, China. At the summit Huawei and over 50 partners and customers including BEA, BroadSoft, China Mobile, HP, IBM and other leading firms from the telecommunications, Internet and IT industries, discussed the latest progress in the development of IMS and developed strategies to allow Service Providers to profit from the convergence of telecommunications and Web 2.0.

The diversified demands of service providers for end-to-end solutions and the rapidly changing market environment call for open and cooperative strategies for IMS development and service innovation. When developing IMS solutions, Huawei and its partners are committed to constructing a flourishing ecosystem to integrate applications from the broad world of service and content providers. Service providers can choose the integrated solutions best suited for addressing their needs. This significantly reduces the risk and complexity of the integration project and provides subscribers with exciting new services, particularly those built around the "anytime, anywhere, via any terminals" capabilities known as Fixed-Mobile-Convergence (FMC).

The summit was a channel for Huawei to communicate with its partners on planning the next generation of services that will allow telecommunications service providers to meet the demands of their customers. In addition, the summit allowed Huawei to attract more partners to enhance the completeness and competitiveness of solutions that can be offered. The summit also provides a platform for partners to exchange information on technologies and business opportunities.
