Reduces operators' maintenance and transmission costs and provides multimedia services to end-users
[Shenzhen China, 4 April 2007] Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications networks for operators around the world, today announced that it launched its industry-leading CDMA2000 All-IP Base Transceiver Station (BTS) series.
Operators are paying increasing attention on how they can improve their network quality and reduce their construction and maintenance costs as they are facing aggressive competition in the 3G market. The IP network, compared with the traditional network, provides greater bandwidth, and higher utilization ratio, and so has already become an important choice for many operators.
Huawei's industry-leading CDMA2000 All-IP BTS series, that includes the BTS3606AE, BTS3606E, BTS3606C and ODU3601CE, features a telecom-grade IP broadband platform and modular design and fully supports the all-band EV-DO Rev. A network deployment and the smooth evolution to future UMB™(Ultra Mobile Broadband).
The BTS series, based on telecom-grade IP broadband platform and modular design, greatly reduces operators' maintenance costs and enables operators to save 40 - 80% in transmission costs. The advanced compression algorithm the CDMA2000 All-IP BTS series guarantees the excellent capacity of Abis interface, which supports 240 voice channels with one E1. It is over 30% higher than the average level of the industry.
The BTS series, by adopting UMB™ technology, also allows operators to supply different kinds of multimedia services to their end-users, such as quality Video Telephone services, VoIP, BCMCS, and wireless broadband access. The DPD and Doherty technologies within the BTS series can help operators reduce their power consumption by 44%, and increase their power amplification efficiency by up to 33%, thereby reducing operation costs.
"Huawei has always been the leader in the mobile IP field," said Mr. Cai Liqun, the president of Huawei's CDMA product line. " Huawei is committed to providing the most advanced technologies to create maximum value and growth for customers. Huawei's industry-leading CDMA2000 All-IP BTS series future proofs operators' networks while reducing their COPEX and OPEX."
As of March 2007, Huawei has won 44 EV-DO commercial contracts and served 70 million users worldwide. Huawei is leading the way to the new ALL-IP era.
