Function Description
Huawei 's videoconferencing system solution supports H.239 dual stream and H.235 encryption protocol. It supports high definition motion image of dynamic 4CIF, 50/60 field progressive scan technique, independent processing technique of audio inputs channel and high resolution SVGA (1280*1024) inputs/outputs. This is in accordance with the current mainstream videoconferencing standard. In addition, it is compatible with the conferencing system equipment that is consistent with H.320 and H.323 standard.
In the using mode, Huawei's videoconferencing system supports the following: dual stream transmission, dual-view, dual video outputs, site call, chairperson conference control, auto cascading conference control and unified allocation of whole network resources. It also supports authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA).
High Quality Conference Effect
Huawei's high definition system can support 4CIF motion image format and 704*576 video resolutions. Obviously, the resolution of Huawei high definition system is four times the resolution of the general CIF format in breed. It can fully meet the requirements of some subscribers for high quality image, such as medical treatment, aerographs, government and army and so on.
The system supports 50/60 field progressive scan technique. It can reduce the blink phenomenon of image and improve the image quality.
The conference that adopts H.264 image coding and decoding protocol can support 3M bandwidth. It can also support 2CIF and 4CIF video resolution. With low speed broadband, it can supply good image effect for users.
Apart from adopting Huawei's ViewProcessing patent pre-image and after-image processing technique, ViewPoint 8000 high definition videoconferencing system adds some new techniques such as: bit rate control strategy, anti-bit error technique, error correcting processing technique, bit error hiding processing technique and so on. With the same broadband, ViewPoint 8000 high definition videoconferencing system can provide image that is vivid and sharper.

High Conference Stability
Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system adopts the following techniques that can ensure system operation stability.
- Line backup and auto sensing
Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system provides line access capability of at most 8 M broadband. When some lines break down, the whole system can automatically reduce the rate. Therefore, the conference can be held without interruption. This ensures conference stability. (Image quality may reduce according to the lines left. The image quality is same as that with same broadband.) This can avoid some problems such as interruption of image voice, mosaic, image trails and so on.
When the lines recover, rate and image quality can automatically return to the normal level.
For an IP-based high definition system, the rate ranges from 128 kbit/s to 8 Mbit/s. For a dedicated line–based high definition system, the rate may be 2 Mbit/s, 4 Mbit/s, 6 Mbit/s and 8 Mbit/s.
IP line and dedicated lines can back up each other.
By lines backup and automatically accelerate and reduce speed function, the system can ensure that the service continues as long as the lines are completely stopped.
Terminal equipment stability
Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system adopts Huawei's new generation group terminal. The whole terminal uses integrated hardware architecture. The coding, decoding and adaptation of image is collaborated by several CPU on the same main board. Therefore, it has strong stability.
Terminals adopt an embedded VxWork real time operating system. They do not have a storage system (such as a file system or a hard disk) that is easily overwritten. Terminals are not easily attacked by viruses and hackers as common PC BASE products. Therefore, the system can work effectively.
- MCU Equipment and Stability
MCU is the core component of videoconferencing system. It dispatches the entire stream. Therefore, the stability of MCU is very essential. Huawei's high definition video conferencing system has the function of MCU backup. When the MCU breaks down, the system can automatically shift to the standby system without affecting the conference.
MCU8630H adopts an embedded VxWork real time operating system. It does not have a storage system (such as a file system or a hard disk) that is easily overwritten.

Features
In addition to quality image and voice, Huawei videoconferencing system provides the following features.
Huawei's video terminal provides high-resolution SVGA (1280*1024) inputs and outputs interface. The subscribers can directly transmit the information in their computers to the system and share it with all the subscribers in the conference. The whole process is digital. It does not use analog signal switching equipment. This improves the display effect. By using terminal SVGA output function, the subscribers can make long distance digital signals display on the digital display equipment such as a projector.
- Intelligent multi-streaming
Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system provides intelligent multi-stream transmission function. The system can transmit PC desktop and local image of the chair site and other sites to the remote site at the same time. This realizes a comprehensive and interactive video conference.
SVGA inputs and outputs can provide panorama and interactive conference. This enriches the content of conference.

Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system provides secrecy measure at different levels. At the signaling level, it provides multiple password protection such as GK registry, site call, terminal conference control, terminal remote control, and terminal configuration and so on. This can ensure that the signaling is in safe status.
Meanwhile, Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system supports standard H.235 streams, which cannot be decrypted. Every bit of information can be encrypted to ensure the security of conferences.
Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system adopts digital and Continuous Presence synthesized technique. The system provides 9 different images connection modes that are 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13 and 16. In conference, the chairperson or administrator can easily shift the images connection modes. In Continuous Presence display, the system supports multi images VIP mode. That is: it can automatically display the ongoing presentation image in a bigger image (VIP image). Moreover, VIP image is dynamically modifiable in conference. This makes the conference more vivid, natural and lifelike.
Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system fully supports far end camera control (FECC). The chair site can control the camera of each site (up and down, left and right, far and near, focus and so on). The chair site can select any of the remote cameras and control it.
The system supports Chinese caption, entering Chinese by using remote control, Chinese site name, Chinese GUI and Chinese scripts development. This is very convenient for the subscribers in China.
For the convenience of subscribers and carriers, this system provides many maintenance functions. These functions include loopback test of terminals, built-in ISDN and IP network tester, log and Web control and Telnet. With these functions, the system can locate the root of problem quickly and resolve it.
Huawei high definition videoconferencing system can automatically control the traffic of streams. If a site is not viewed by others, the MCU notifies it to lower the rate. This can reduce the bandwidth of the whole conference, thus improving the network resource utilization.
Subscribers Service Automation

With the SiteCall function, subscribers can choose the sites of a conference and hold the conference without the cooperation of an administrator. The system can schedule MCUs automatically, including selecting MCU and cascading MCUs.

Subscribers can control a conference themselves; irrespective of whether the conference is a single-level one or a multi-level one. Subscribers can select any of the following conference modes: broadcast conference, Continuous Presence conference, roll call conference, free discussion conference and voice activation conference.
Compatibility
Using standard ITUT audio/video protocols, Huawei's high definition videoconferencing system supports various image formats such as H.261, H.263, and H.264. In this way, standard terminals of other vendors can also access this system. In addition to high definition conferences at up to 8 Mbit/s, the system also supports normal H.263/H.264 conferences at 128 kbit/s–2 Mbit/s. Therefore, it protects the subscriber's investments to the greatest extent.
